Darcie drops new lo-fi pop single ‘Modern Day Housewife’

Darcie is the solo project of Manchester based multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Zigi Porter whose lo-fi music style has been described as “lilting barbecue pop”. Drawing influences from artists such as Jorja Smith and Glass Animals, Darcie has crafted her own distinct sound to create a warm blend of pop, electro, and soul – layered with pristine harmonies and DIY instrumentation.

A certified ‘one to watch’, Darcie has performed at multiple venues in and around Manchester, most notably The Deaf Institute, and has worked alongside Mahogany Sessions and Sofar Sounds to showcase her live talent.

Darcie has self-released 7 singles co-written with drummer and producer Tom Donaldson, as well as a mini EP ‘Darling’ and a music video for her hit single ‘Litter’. Darcie is currently working on her follow-up EP ‘Conversations with a Hot Dog’ which is due for release at the end of July.

The lead single from the upcoming EP is titled ‘Modern Day Housewife’, a dreamy, playful experimentation of layered vocals and quirky percussion – the epitome of bedroom pop.
