London duo IDER share new music video for ‘Wu Baby’

Trippy, moody, and reminiscent of a grungy underground nightclub – the music video for alt pop duo IDER’s ‘Wu Baby’ embodies the edge and passion of their new single. The video features IDER front-women and friends Lily Somerville and Megan Markwick combining effortless harmonies, somber lyrics, and a powerful performance to create an exciting visual representation of comeback song ‘Wu Baby’.

‘Wu Baby’ explores themes of a forbidden love cloaked in dark and religious imagery, which is reflected in the surreal and artistic personification by director Lewis Knaggs.

The song comes ahead of the release of the duo’s highly anticipated debut album, Emotional Education, which is six years in the making. Speaking on the name of the album, Lily said: “It was a penny drop moment. It’s such a perfect example of the way we work, this partnership that is all entangled. Emotional education is what we give each other, and what we’re going to give you with this album’.

Emotional Education will be debuted live at London’s Moth Club later this month, followed by an official release on July 19th through Glassnote Records. IDER have planned a series of European shows until the beginning of 2020 – tickets are available here.
