Lyves, the alias of London-based singer-songwriter Francesca Bergami, returns with her new single ‘Faded’, a soulful song about falling out of love.
Hailing from Aylesbury, the songstress has built a platform of loyal listeners since the success of previous releases such as ‘The Weather’ and ‘Darkest Hour’ and has gained the praise of online media following her recent support for Coldplay on their European tour.
Lyves cites Enya, Sade and Moby as the earliest influences in her life that have impacted the way she produces her records. Lyves is not afraid to embrace this wide set of musical roots in the smooth and sensual ‘Faded’, with its emotive lyrics that wrap around R&B undertones to create a velvety, easy-listening experience.
Speaking on ‘Faded’, Lyves said: “I had the opportunity to record with some of my favourite musicians in London. Every part on the record was played live and their playing felt so colourful and expanded my grasp of the music – inspiring my vocal performance and where I felt I could go. I felt like I got a glimpse into a new space musically. I would like to create more records in this live context.”
According to her Twitter, Lyves is currently planning a UK tour, riding off the back of her smash hit headline show at the London Omeara in April.
